Evening of the first day of the Midwinter Festival.

Snow was still falling, fat things of unique beauty, some with as wide a diameter as silver coins, though not many had any to spare in comparison. He had to blink frequently, for they stuck to his eyelashes, occasionally shaking his head to rid his hair of them as he trotted his horse, Davin, nudging him into a short strided, high stepping canter. Davin snorted, tossing his head while the breath from his nostrils became a silvery grey cloud, dissapating into nothing. Through the entrance at the eastern end of the jousting arena they cantered, and it was there that Eamonn reined in his mount, his deep blue - green gaze sweeping over the stands and the arena, the tilts of white running down the centre, where two jousters would ride down opposite sides, charging each other.

His horse was tacked up in the one saddle Eamonn owned, as usual, along with the bridle, but today, Eamonn had secured the caparison on, as well, a magnificent thing of black with a swooping hawk in gold with red shading on the wings, with red brocade around the borders edged in gold. Clothen decourations were also strung along the reins; black with the gold trimmed, red brocade. Eamonn wore no armour, held no weapon but for the sword at his left hip, but the bright colours were enough to inspire him.

He kicked Davin sharply, and the horse obeyed by skipping the second gait altogether, and merely springing from a walk straight into a canter, running eagerly along the right side of the tilts. His hooves thundered on the thin layer of frosty snow that sprinkled the ground, the continuous snowflakes already having ceased their downfall. It was bitingly cold, but Eamonn felt alive and vigourous as he and his horse reached the end, and Eamonn, whirled him around in a tight little circle, before kicking sharply once more, to set them off again.

[Rather short, but oh well. Perhaps I will add more, later.
All welcome.]
The general idea of his horse.
